Transportation Coordinator

Location: Montreal, Quebec
Job Type: Full-time Temporary - 6 months

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for all aspects related to managing the day-today transportation and logistics in Montreal, as detailed below:

  • Coordinate the movement of Aircraft Parts and related equipment (Air & Ground)
  • Request quotes from carriers
  • Produce commercial invoices for shipments to US and Overseas
  • Tracking of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Monitor transportation invoicing and prices
  • Inform of any transportation related issues, damaged shipments, delays, high costs
  • Assist with Critical and AOG (Aircraft on The Ground) shipments
  • Provide assistance to the Supply Chain in transportation related activities in areas such as:
    o    Request For Parts (RFP)
    o    Purchase Orders/Repair Orders
    o    Inventory
    o    Warehousing
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

You will have the following responsibilities in order to comply with the company's Occupational Health and Safety program:

Employees are responsible for:
  • Working in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety acts and regulations
  • Following safe work practices and procedures and using safeguards and personal protective equipment
  • Reporting hazards (such as unsafe situations and activities) to their supervisor immediately

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 0 - 2 years of work experience and/or education in Transportation and Logistics
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Positive, professional attitude and the ability to take initiative
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to function in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of AMS and/or SharePoint, an asset
  • Dangerous Goods training, an asset
  • Advanced computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Strong problem solving skills and solutions oriented
  • Ability to perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Safety, Teamwork, Focus, Innovation and Integrity
  • Demonstrates strong and visible support of our values
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including afterhours
  • Ability to work outdoors
  • Position requires Level II  Clearance with the Canadian Government and the ability to gain access to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
